Silvia Vacirca is a doctoral candidate in the SARAS (Storia Antropologia Religioni Arte Spettacolo) Department at Sapienza University in Rome.

Her doctoral thesis explores the role Bellezza, the official fashion magazine of Ente Nazionale della Moda,had in shaping modern Italian culture. 

Her research interests focus on histories and theories of Italian fashion and film costume from a cultural perspective. 

Silvia’s writing has been published by Film, Fashion & Consumption Journal (Routledge), The Culture Fashion and Society Notebook (Mondadori), ZoneModa Journal (University of Bologna), and Cinergie (University of Bologna).
